Emilie was certified by Joseph Pilates’s protégé, Romana Kryzanowska’s Romana's Pilates® 600+ hours teacher training program in New York City. She has been teaching Pilates since 2009. Pilates was originally a means to managing physical pain and weakness due to both Emilie’s hip labrum tear and scoliosis. Because of the vast number of additional Pilates benefits, the method has become a life-changing passion.

Emilie views Pilates as not just a workout, but as self-sustaining practice benefiting both the body and mind. She takes a person-centered approach to her teaching, acknowledging the unique needs of each individual’s body and empowering clients with self-awareness to enhance their self-care.

Emilie has participated in over 100 hours of continuing education related to physical fitness and rehabilitation, anatomy and pathophysiology, functional movement, neurobiology, and the psycho- physical integration of somatic movement. She has received specialized training in Pre- & Post-Natal Pilates and is additionally certified in Yamuna Body Rolling® (myofascial release), TRX Suspension Training, and Yoga for Trauma (Y4T).

Emilie is a practicing holistic wellness coach, having earned her MA in Integrative Health Studies from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. She specializes in coaching survivors of sexual trauma. Emilie recently developed a trauma-informed Pilates protocol. After 15 years living in NYC, Emilie is loving life in Southern California and so grateful to be teaching with Ania and all the gifted instructors at Pilates of San Diego.
